A warming and anti-inflammatory drink that tastes great. This is my mothers recipe from when she lived in India. I’ve been drinking this since I was a kid. When my friends got Milo – I got Golden Milk to soothe me and today I’m in need of nurturing as the winds of nature and life unsettle me.
By stopping and enjoying the ritual of making Golden Milk it’s given me breathing space to re-set my brain into a more positive mindset.
Benefits: Anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, immune booster, digestion health + skin health
This batch is made with Coconut + Macadamia Nut Milk.
Golden Milk Recipe
2 cups of milk of your choice
1.5 tsp of ground tumeric (or fresh)
1 tsp of cinnamon with a dash of nutmeg
1/4 ts of ground ginger (or fresh)
Cracked pepper
Coconut Oil (optional) Cardamon + cloves (optional)
Add ingredients to saucepan with milk and slowly heat. Strain + serve with honey.
If adding coconut oil – make a paste with spices and oil, melt in saucepan to release the flavours and add milk, heat slowly.
Coconut + Macadamia Milk or Mylk
I would love to say I measure the ingredients but I don’t. I always make enough for two days and will use it in my porridge and curry or soup. I only strain the milk for Chai Tea or Golden Milk.
Add coconut to blender with 2 cups of water. Let it soak (I let it soak in the sunshine to ‘cook’ and release flavour).
Add 1/2 cup of macadamia nuts and blend away.
You can add any nuts to your milk – it depends on your taste.
Enjoy xx
